Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether pressure influences academic cheating behavior. To find out whether opportunity influences academic cheating behavior. To find out whether rationalization affects academic cheating behavior. To find out whether ability influences academic cheating behavior. To find out whether greed influences academic cheating behavior. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The research sample display method is convenience sampling method. The population in this study was 2017-2018 accounting students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta and the sample in this study was 83 respondents. Based on the results of the study note that the pressure variable does not have an individual effect on academic cheating behavior, this hypothesis is not proven true. The opportunity variable does have an individual influence on academic cheating behavior, this hypothesis is proven true. The rationalization variable has an individual influence on academic cheating behavior, this hypothesis is proven to be true. The ability variable has an individual influence on academic cheating behavior, this is the hypothesis that is proven to be true. The greed variable does have an individual influence on academic cheating behavior, this hypothesis is proven true.
