Abstract
Piercing is the process of making holes by using press dies, piercing is used to make holes in the pan with the double punch method aimed at making the hole punching process faster and consistent hole spacing. The punch diameter used is 5 mm and 6 mm while the clearance used is 0.54 mm. The material used is the 1100 series aluminum which is made by a pan through a metal spinning process with a thickness before machining 1.2 mm. To measure the suitability of the diameter using a digital calipers and to measure the length of the burr perforation produced during the piercing process using a digital microscope. From the results of measurement of the average diameter conformity results in decreased diameter of both 5 mm diameter punch and 6 mm diameter, there are specimens whose diameter is less than 5 mm. The smallest burr length at 5 mm diameter is 0.12 mm and the largest burr length is 0.43 mm, the smallest burr length at 6 mm diameter is 0.56 mm and the largest burr length is 0.86 mm. The processing time required is the same for the 5 mm and 6 mm piercing process which is around 13 seconds.
