Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of variations radius roller to surface roughness and final thickness on the manufacture of aluminium bowl with metal spinning process. This study uses aluminium plate 1100 with thickness is 1.2 mm. The research process with mandrel speed is 400 rpm using variety of roller radius is 4 mm, 5 mm, and 6 mm. Surface roughness testing using test equipment roughness (Surface Roughness Tester TR200 type with ISO standards). Testing the final thickness using a micrometer screw Digital. The results of surface roughness measurements using roller radius 4 mm in section 1 is 1,381 µm, section 2 is 1,027 µm, part 3 is 0.865 µm. Using roller radius 5 mm the roughness value in section 1 is 1.140 µm, section 2 is 0.832 µm, section 3 is 0.641 µm. Using roller radius 6 mm the roughness value in section 1 is 0.946 µm, part 2 is 0.640 µm, part 3 is 0.429 µm. Thickness measurement using roller radius 4 mm at distance of 23 mm produces thickness is 1,196 mm, distance of 38 mm is 1,153 mm, distance of 53 mm is 1,110, distance of 68 mm is 0,952 mm, distance of 83 mm is 0,842, distance of 98 mm is 0,753, distance of 113 mm is 0,680. Using roller radius 5 mm at distance of 23 mm produces thickness is 1,189 mm, distance of 38 mm is 1,150 mm, distance of 53 mm is 1,102, distance of 68 mm is 0.911 mm, distance of 83 mm is 0.791, distance of 98 mm is 0.692, distance of 113 mm is 0.606. Using roller radius 6 mm at distance of 23 mm produces thickness is 1,184 mm, distance of 38 mm is 1,143 mm, distance of 53 mm is 1,096, distance of 68 mm is 0.890 mm, distance of 83 mm is 0.756, distance of 98 mm is 0.639, distance of 113 mm is 0.542.
