Abstract

ABSTRACK This study aims to analyze and examine the influence of perception, motivation, labor market considerations, professional recognition, social values on the interests of accounting students in a career in taxation at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta and the Batik University of Surakarta. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Accounting Study Program S-1 Program. The sample in this study were the students of the Accounting Study Program s of the Faculty of Economics and Business in the Class of 2015 and 2016 as many as 163 respondents. The technique to get the sample is using purposive sampling and convenience sampling . Data analysis in this study uses data quality tests and classical assumptions. The hypothesis testing in this study used multiple linear analysis, with the help of SPSS version 21.00. The results of this study indicate that labor market considerations, professional recognition and social values influence the interests of accounting students in career in taxation, while perceptions and motivations do not affect of accounting students in a career in taxation.
