Abstract
Collision is a meeting of two moving objects. At each collision the momentum conservation law applies but not the mechanical energy conservation law, because here some energy is converted into heat due to collisions or changes in shape. In this study the material used for making charcoal comes from acacia plants. Acacia charcoal is a product obtained from imperfect combustion of acacia plants. This study uses a Shaker Mills tool to process the High Energy Ball Milling (HEBM). This tool is modified so that the steel balls collide with each other with charcoal, with a speed of 1000 Rpm for 2.5 million cycles, with the size of the steel 5/16 . From this test the steel balls are tested in testing the Micro Structure and Hardness of the Vikers. Microstructure testing aims to determine the phase found on the surface of the steel ball before and after the collision. In testing the Vikers hardness performed on steel balls aims to determine the value of hardness from before and after the collision.
