Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand the role of parents in developing prosocial attitudes in young men. Prosocial attitudes important to teach boys to be boys were able to provide benefits to anyone other than themselves by working together, sharing and helping. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method of data collected through interviews and observations. The study involved three parents with each represented by a father and mother. Data validation was achieved by triangulation and data analysis using descriptive analysis. The results showed that parents provide education to their children in various ways such as her son when learning so that there will be communication between children and parents. Parents will provide education to their children in the form of understanding, advice and examples about the attitude of prosocial while hanging out with his son as when learning so that children are able to apply what was obtained from the parents' education on attitudes prosocial like talking to a gentle, humble by not brag self, help care for sick family and succumb to his brother. Environmental influences on prosocial attitudes in adolescent boys by parents has a positive influence in the development of their children. Because the environment has an influence on the child to interact with local people so that when the interaction of the social development of children will be honed.
