Abstract
Indonesian tofu factory includes an informal industrial sector. Generally, labors do not get occupational health services or health insurance. The labor in the tofu factory working with a hot climate and limited space but they ignore personal protective equipment (PPE). The purposes of this research are to determine the safety and health of labor in tofu factories and the completeness of PPE. It can be used as an evaluation to avoid work accidents and create occupational health and safety (OHS). This research is a type of descriptive study that uses a qualitative approach as an illustration of awareness about the function of protection equipment (PPE) on labor and analysis of OHS training. The collection data method was carried out by interviewing directly to the labor of the Mojosongo tofu industry. After that, a risk analysis is also done by looking at the chance of an accident using a Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) method. Most of the labor in the Mojosongo tofu factory already known about the importance of occupational health and safety but still not implement it by using PPE, the percentage is only 30%. This case also relates to the absence of OHS socialization and regulation from government service. The labor who had attended OHS training was 69.7%.
