Abstract

Language is one of the human means to convey information. This study aims to describe the rhetorical language style contained in the Najwa notes, the frequency of use of the rhetorical language style contained in the Najwa notes, and the relevance of the rhetorical language style to Indonesian language learning in high school. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The research data is rhetorical language in Najwa notes in January-July 2019 and KIKD in Permendikbud number 37 in 2018. The source of research data is Najwa notes uploaded on Instagram and Facebook accounts of Najwa Shihab and Permendikbud number 37 in 2018. Data collection techniques are techniques see and note technique. The research data validation technique is theory triangulation. Data analysis technique in research is content analysis. The results of this study can be concluded (1) alliterative language style there is the same consonant repetition in one sentence that has two same clauses at the end of a sentence that is [l], [k], [ng], [p], [m], [n], [s], [r], [t], and [h]. The style of asonance consists of repeating the same vowel in one sentence with the same two clauses at the end of a sentence [i], [a], and [u]. Apophasis or preterisio style there are sentences that seem to deny the actual facts. The style of asindeton is found in words, phrases or clauses that are not connected with conjunctions in sentences with commas (2) frequency of rhetorical style, that is alliteration style 46 times, asonance style 36 times, apofasis or preterisio 2 times and asindeton language style 2 times. (3) Rhetorical language style in Najwa's notes is relevant to KIKD for learning Indonesian in high school.
