Abstract

The development of coffee production and consumption that continues to increase in Indonesia needs an effort to cultivate coffee plants. Jambu District is the biggest coffee producer in Semarang Regency. However, although Jambu District is an area that is classified as the biggest coffee producer in Semarang Regency, it often experiences a decrease in coffee production, although not significantly. Until now there has been no further assessment of land suitability for coffee plants in Jambu District. Referring to these problems, therefore, the authors are compelled to conduct this research. This study aims to determine land suitability classes and limiting factors for coffee plants and determine land suitability at subclass level. The research method used is descriptive method with the type of survey research. The data processing technique used is through the Matching process. The results showed that land suitability in Jambu District, Semarang Regency consisted of two land suitability classes, namely Very Suitable Class (S1) and Sufficient Class (S2). Very Suitable Class consists of land units: (1) V7 I LC K (2) S6 IV ACLCK K (3) S6 IV ACLCK T (4) S6 IV AMCL K (5) V7 III 2 AMCL T (6) V7 III LC K (7) V7 III AMCL SW. Whereas for Class Sufficiently Suited (S2) consists of land units: (1) V7 I LC SW (2) V7 I AMCL SW (3) V7 III AMCL SW (4) V7 III AMCL T ( 5) V7 III LC K (6) V7 III LC SB (7) V7 III LC SW (8) V7 III LC T
