Abstract
At PT. DMDT IV Boyolali, the activity of moving the fabric roll to the inspecting machine by the Operator Grey is done by means of workers lifting and installing it manually without the aid of ergonomic aids. Lifting a roll of cloth weighing 100 kg in the position of the back bent, neck bent, and the handle of the fabric roll that does not fit the size of the Operator Grey posture and based on observations with the Nordic Body Map questionnaire this activity has the potential to cause work fatigue and musculoskeletal complaints. Based on the existing problems, it is necessary to improve the gray operator work activities by designing proposed tools that aim to improve the work posture of Operator Grey work activities. The stages in the proposed design of the aid consists of elaborating the design concept, design objectives, determining the specification of the proposed design of the aid using anthropometric data of the Indonesian community body dimensions, design calculation, and validating the proposal for the design of the assistive tool, which is done in two ways, namely testing the proposed designcctools and risk level assessment of work posture simulation using REBA method. The final result of this study is the proposed fabric train design as a tool to facilitate the activities of Operator Grey who are able to reduce the level of work posture risk, ie a decrease in the value of REBA risk level. Before the proposed tool design, the three phases of the gray operator activity movement have a risk level value of 9, 12, and 11. This value means a high level of risk and very high so immediate repairs are needed. After the proposed tool design is made and simulated, the movement phase is reduced to two movements and the resulting level value is 3 and 4. This value means that the risk level is small and moderate so no immediate repair is needed.
