Abstract
This study aims to use Polya's steps so that students more easily solve comparative problem problems and know the use of Polya's steps can improve problem solving skills in Comparative learning. This research is a classroom action research conducted by collaborating between researchers and mathematics teachers. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, test methods, field notes, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative data analysis technique using critical analysis techniques. The results of this study are to improve problem solving skills. From 32 students before the action: 1) students were able to understand the problem as many as 6 students (18.75%), 2) students were able to plan problems as many as 5 students (15.625%), 3) students were able to carry out plans as many as 6 students (18.75% ), 4) students are able to recheck as many as 7 students (21.875%). After the action, the results are obtained: 1) students are able to understand the problem of 24 students (75%), 2) students are able to plan problems as many as 22 students (68.75%), 3) students are able to carry out plans as many as 23 students (71.875%), 4) students are able to recheck as many as 23 students (71.875%)
