Abstract

One strategy for implementing self-confidence is integration with pillar art subjects. The purpose of this study are (1) to describe the implementation of competency-based pillar art in fostering the confidence of students in grade VI at Muh. Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. (2) describes the response to the implementation of competency-based pillar art in fostering the confidence of students in grade VI at SD Muh. Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. (3) describe the obstacles and solutions of the implementation of the competency-based pillar art in fostering the confidence of Class VI students at SD Muh. Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a location in SD Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. The data source in the study was art teacher at SD Muh. Alam Surya Mentari Surakarta. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation / field notes. Test the validity of the data using source and technique triangulation. Data were analyzed through the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that (1) the implementation of competency-based pillar art was carried out in 3 stages, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. (2) the response of school residents in perceiving the implementation of competency-based pillars of art received a positive response because in addition to helping channel the interests and talents of students as well as the formation of student character through self-confidence. (3) the constraints that researchers found in the implementation of the pillar art are the limitations of place, human resources, internal factors of students and time. The solution of implementing the competency-based pillar of art is the need for a special room to place art equipment, a special schedule is made for dance teachers, the need for the teacher's role in packaging learning interestingly and creatively, changing the schedule of school programs outside the art schedule.
