Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is a clinical syndrome condition that is marked by a decline in kidney function, occurs slowly and over a long period of time, the decrease can be inhibited if the patient does treatment regularly. One of the therapies for CRF patients is hemodialysis. Patients need 12-15 hours per week to do hemodialysis. With such a continuous situation, families and patients with CRF sufferers will feel a psychosocial pressure, one of which is stress. Hemodialysis patients often have difficulty coping with stress. Stress in patients will affect the treatment of patients while carrying out therapy one of the consequences is lazy to do therapy. while patient compliance in doing therapy is an important and obligatory to note. Because if not, it will affect the body's function which results in the accumulation of harmful substances in the body. Therefore a study was conducted to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms with obedience therapy of hemodialysis patient. Objective of this research is to find out the correlation between coping mechanism with obedience of chronic kidney failure while do the hemodialysis therapy. Method Type of research uses descriptive correlative and quasi experimental design with chi-square to find the correlation between copng mechaisme with obedience therapy of hemdialysis patient. Fourty two respondents of hemodialysis patient in RSUD Pandan Arang Boyolali. All respondents fill the questionaire while do the therapy. The result show that the majority of respondent were 46-65 years old with adaptive coping mechanism that do therapy obedience is 97,6%. The result of statistical test using chi-square obtained p<0,05 (p=0,001) that’s mean there is correlation between coping mechanism with obedience therapy of hemodialysis patient. The result is there is correlation between coping mechanism with obedience therapy of hemodialysis paient.
