Abstract

The campaign is a communication activity that is intended to influence someone to have attitudes and behavior in accordance with the wishes of the giver of information. This study aims to identify the meaning of the sign regarding negative political campaigns in Gerindra Party advertisements on the youtube media entitled "Bachelor of Work! Work! Work! "," Employment "and" Dinner Chat ". This study uses Roland Barthes's Semiotics analysis method by using the terms denotation, connotation and myth to find out the meaning of each Gerindra Party advertisement scene that is associated with a negative campaign. The results of this study indicate that the Gerindra Party advertisement is included in the negative campaign advertisement category, the False Negative Campaign Adversting, that the party does not include information that is actually related to government performance.
