Abstract

The Prosecutors' Office is a government agency that exercises state power in the field of prosecution whose provisions are subject to Article 30 of Law Number 16 Year 2004 concerning the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia. In the case of children who commit crimes, although in terms of quality and quantity by adults, the treatment given does not have to be the same as the treatment for adults who commit crimes. The Prosecutor's Office as the authorized party in the prosecution stage is expected to make the indictment a deterrent effect on the perpetrators while still fulfilling the rights of the perpetrators. The problem in this study is how the regulatory profile governing the position and role of the Prosecutor's Office in the prosecution stage of children who commit crimes and how the Prosecutor's role in the stage of prosecution of children who commit criminal acts. From the research results it is known that there is a compatibility between the legislation with its application and the Karanganyar District Prosecutor's Office has carried out its role in accordance with the existing Law.
