Abstract

In Sragen, there are still many damaged road conditions which are caused by unstable soil conditions. The condition of potholes and damaged roads and the relatively short life of the road is a problem that exists in BendoVillage. Based on the results of preliminary tests that have been carried out in the form of physical tests on the land of Bendo Village, Sukodono District, Sragen Regency in the Civil Engineering Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta obtained a specific gravity = 2.749%, Water content (w) = 10.75%, Plastic Limit (PL) = 30.11%, Shrinkage Limit (SL) = 20.13%, Liquid Limit ( LL) = 69.94%, Plasticity Index (PI) = 39.83%. The results of this study indicate the physical properties of the soil, the value of water content, specific gravity value, liquid limit value, plasticity index value and % pass filter no. 200 has decreased. As for the plastic limit and shringkage limit values have increased to the original soil. The original soil classification is seen from USCS, namely CH (high organic non-organic clay), according to AASHTO is A-7-6 (clay). The classification of mixed 5% lime soil and 0% coconut shell charcoal according to USCS is CH, according to AASHTO A-7-5. Whereas the addition of 5% lime and coconut shell charcoal powder 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% according to USCS including MH, according to AASHTO A-7-5. In testing the mechanical properties of soil by soil compaction using standard proctor, the dry volume weight value has increased and the optimum moisture content has decreased with increasing percentage of lime and coconut shell charcoal powder. CBR Soaked and Unsoaked testing has increased. CBR value of soaked original soil by 2% to 9% in addition of lime 5% coconut shell charcoal powder 10%. The development value has decreased from the original soil from 4.84% to 3.39% with the addition of 5% lime and coconut shell charcoal powder 10%. CBR value of unsoaked original soil by 3% to 35% in addition of lime 5% coconut shell charcoal powder 10%.
