Abstract

Problems of inundated water or flooding often occur on Indonesian roads, including roads under the Manahan flyover. When it rains sometimes the road is inundated by water so that it can disturb road users who pass through the road and damage the structure of the road. Inundation that occurs is caused by a drainage system that is not optimum, causing water to run over into the road. So, to find out how the drainage system performance is carried out a hydrological analysis to calculate the plan discharge with a return period of 25 years in accordance with the total area of drainage canal and the city topology and then compared with the existing drainage channel discharge. The results of the planned discharge ratio of 10.857 m3/sec and the existing discharge of 9.058 m3/sec indicate that the existing drainage channel cannot accommodate the design discharge, so it is necessary to re-plan the dimensions of the drainage channel. The cross section of the channel used is in the form of a trapezoid using material on the channel wall in the form of a split rock. The maximum discharge results are used as a reference for planning drainage channel dimensions, so that the width of the upper channel (B) = 2.99 m, the bottom width (b) = 1.65m, and the height of the channel (h) = 1.34 m
