Abstract
Composites are often a serious problem for the environment because they are difficult to decipher by nature or microoganism. The development of natural fiber composites is one solution to deal with this problem. This study examines the manufacture of composites from palm fiber and bran with epoxy resin. Composites are made by mixing epoxy resin and bran-palm with Variations in volume (100:0:0, 90:5:5, 80:10:10 and 70:15:15%). After acquired composite that has been hardened test impact and tensile. The results showed that the impact and tensile strength is directly proportional to the addition of fiber volumes. Gained the strongest impact strength and the biggest tensile is found in the volume ratio of 70:15:15% which has impact strength of 0.0118 N/mm2 and strong tensile of 0.1114 N/mm2.
