Abstract

Indonesia is a country with abundant natural wealth and responsibility that is as large as its natural wealth. Although claimed to be the 'lung of the world', ironically Indonesia is also one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions in the world, which is around 1.98 billion tons of CO² emissions per year (WRI, 2012). This is justified by looking at mitigation mechanisms that have not worked proportionally so that fire suppression can only be done when the fire is already massive. Therefore we need a device that is capable of being operated in the field to continuously monitor the condition of the forest. The forest fire detection device is an electronic system that has the ability to transmit data in the field to operators via an internet connection (IoT) in real time. Data displayed in the form of temperature and air content in the forest. Both of these data are important for monitoring forest conditions so that early prevention (mitigation) can be carried out in the hope that there will be no greater forest fires. This tool is also used as a warning if at any time there is a fire so that it can immediately handle fire alerts and to evacuate residents who are potentially affected by forest fires.
