Abstract
MILK CONSUMPTION HABITS, BODY COMPOSITION AND MORBIDITY OF ADOLESCENT GIRLS Introduction: Milk consumption habits are good activities to improve health status. Ministry of agriculture (2016) states that milk consumptio in Indonesia is still low compared to other countries which are only around 11,8 liters/capita/year, including processed products that contain milk. Objective: this research aims to determine the relationship between milk consumption habits with the percentage of body fat and morbidity in female students of SDN Totosari I, Tunggulsari I and Tunggulsari II. The research Methodology: This research uses cross sectional design. Percentage of total body fat data were obtained from measurements using Biolectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Data on milk consumption habits were taken from interviews conducted directly using semi-quantitatif FFQ, while the morbidity data is taken from the results of a questionnaire filled directly by students and parents. The data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to see the normality of the data, and then followed by Pearson Product Moment test to see the relationship between milk consumption habits with body composition and Spearman Rank Correlation test to see the relationship between milk consumption habits and morbidity. The results: Milk consumption habits in adolescent girls belonged to rare category of 73,1%, the frequent category of 23,1% and are never consume milk at 3,8%. Body composition (percentage of fat) in adolescent girls was included to sufficient category of 96,2% and 3,8% includes more categories. Morbidity in adolescent girls belonged to frequent illness as much as 37,5%, rarely sick 36,5% and 25% never sick. Correlation test results between the consumption habits of milk with morbidity was p value of more than 0,05. The results of the correlation between the consumption habits of milk with body composition (percent of fat) obtained p value of more than 0,05. The conclusions and recommendations: There was no relationship between milk consumption habits with morbidity. There was no relationship between the consumption habits of milk and body composition (percentage of fat).
