Abstract

The transmission system is the process of transferring power from the engine to the differential, which then moves the wheel. In heavy equipment units, especially the Kawasaki wheel loader, it uses a powershift type transmission. This powershift plan was conducted to find out the working mechanism of powershift transmission and things that need to be considered in this planning. Next is the method of planning the first transmission powershift is to make a flow chart of planning procedures, data collection, then make a calculation analysis. Calculation analysis includes the dimensions of the gear, shaft diameter, bearing, and peg. From the calculation, the results for the selection of materials according to safe standards are for gears using SNC 3 with tensile strength values σB = 95 〖Kg/mm〗^2, Brinell hardness value H_B= 269 - 321, permissible bending stresses σa = 40 – 60 〖Kg/mm〗^2. For 60 mm diameter shaft using S 40 C material with a value of σB = 55 〖Kg/mm〗^2. The stake uses S 35 C material with a value of σB = 52 〖Kg/mm〗^2, the dimensions of the stake b = 18 mm, h = 10 mm, t_1 = 7 mm, t_2 = 4.4 mm and l = 75 mm. For bearings using SKF 1212 with a value of C = 3181.5 Kg, Co = 1274.65 Kg, dimensions of bearing d = 60 mm, D = 110 mm, B = 22 mm.
