Abstract

The purposes of this study are: 1) to describe social support in career planning for accounting class X students at SMK N 1 Banyudono, 2) to describe the support of parents in career planning for students of accounting class X accounting at SMK N 1 Banyudono, 3) to describe the support of peers in career planning for accounting grade X students at SMK N 1 Banyudono. This is a qualitative research with ethnographic design. The data collection techniques are observation and interviews. The subjects of this study are accounting grade X students at SMK N 1 Banyudono. Data validity uses source triangulation. The data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The findings of this study indicate are: a) The social support from the family becomes one of the easiest means to provide direction and information on student career planning, such as the attention, affection and economic conditions of parents to be an impetus for making decisions in student career plans. b) The support from peers gives feedback on what is done in the group because the intensity and more spending time together in an activity so it shapes the mindset of student career planning. c) There are several factors of social support in career planning for accounting grade X students at SMK N 1 Banyudono namely family, environment and self-will.
