Abstract

This study has three objectives, (1) describing the structure of editorial texts in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine, (2) describing the types of editorial text responses in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine, (3) describing the use of structure and types of editorial text responses in Suara Muhammadiyah magazine for learning high school Indonesian class XII. This study is descriptive qualitative. Data in this study are sentences, paragraphs, discourses. Data sources were twenty editorial texts published in the 2017-2019 edition of Suara Muhammadiyah magazine. Data collection techniques use the referring technique. The data analysis technique uses the Agih method. The results of this study are (1) the structure of the editorial text which consists of three parts, namely (a) opinion statement (b) argumentation (c) re-statement of opinion, (2) the types of responses contained in editorial texts there are three types, namely (a) receive in full (b) accept partially (c) refuse accompanied by reason, (3) use of editorial text as Indonesian language teaching materials in class XII of SMA curriculum 2013 especially KD 3.6 Analyze the structure and language of the editorial text.
