Abstract

Interfaith marriage that as a marriage conducted by people who embrace different religions and beliefs from one another. As for the problems, among others, the first factor causes of interfaith marriages, the second is due to interfaith marriages law against the decision and the third how judges considerations in granting the decision. In writing, the writer uses descriptive quantitative design with normative law used in the study. From the results of the study, factors causing interfaith marriages, the influence of local culture, parents' backgrounds, minimal education about religion, family is not a determinant of marriage, love for each other and individual freedom. The legal consequences of interfaith marital law include marriage validity these religious differences, marriage registration, status of children and inheritance rights obtained by their parents. The judge's consideration in setting the stipulation was the existence of Discretion in Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning marriage.
