Abstract
Mothers who have autistic children will face many difficult situations and are vulnerable to have negative feelings so the need to have the skills to accept the situation by balancing positive and negative emotions so that mothers continue to obtain psychological well-being. The purpose of this study is to describe the psychological well-being of mothers with autistic children. This research informants numbered 6 people obtained through purposive sampling techniques, namely mothers with ages 38-44 years and become a client at the Surakarta City Autism Service Center. Data collection uses semi-structured interviews. The results of the study describe aspects of psychological well-being of mothers who have autistic children, namely independence, self-acceptance, purpose of life, self-development, positive relationships with others and environmental mastery. Then other factors that influence psychological well-being in mothers who have autistic children include support, psychological conditions, religiosity and coping skills.
