Abstract

The purpose of this research are (1) To describe a structure the Gading-Gading Ganesha (3G) novel by Dermawan Wibisono, (2) Describe the motivational aspects in the Gading-Gading Ganesha (3G) novel by Dermawan Wibisono, and (3) The implementation Gading-Gading Ganesha (3G) novel by Dermawan Wibisono as a literary teaching material in high school. This research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this researchwas novels Gading-Gading Ganesha (3G) by Dermawan Wibisono. Data collection techniques used documenting, listening, and noting. The data analysis technique used the semiotic reading method with heuristic and hermeneutic reading techniques. The validity of data used is data triangulation. The results of this research show (1) Structural analysis of the Gading-Gading Ganesha novel (3G) by Dermawan Wibisono, which has a progressive flow, has a theme fighting spirit in the life journey of ITB students to achieve career success that can also benefit the nation. Social background tells a struggle in the lives of six students who study at ITB with different regional backgrounds. The mandate of this novel is to teach someone not to give up. (2) There is motivational aspects of the Gading-Gading Ganesha (3G) novel by Dermawan Wibisono, namely achievement, affiliation, and power. (3) Novels in this research can be implemented as literary teaching materials in high school class XI, KD 3.11 Analyze the messages from one fiction book that is read, and KD 4.11 Arrange a review of messages from one read fiction book.
