Abstract
Heart failure is the inability of the heart to maintain adequate cardiac output to meet metabolic needs and oxygen demand in tissues despite adequate venous return. The psychological impact of heart failure is very complex and will trigger negative emotions such as anxiety, stress and depression. To determine the description of psychological conditions in patients with outpatient heart failure who are in the cardiac clinic and blood vessels of RSUD Ir. Sukarno. Method used is cross sectional approach with a total sampling technique. The study was conducted at the Polyclinic of RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo with 132 respondents. The research instrument is Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 to determine the psychological condition of the patient. The results obtained from this study showed a description of psychological conditions of mild depression (86.4%), moderate anxiety (18.9%) and mild stress (81.8%). The characteristics of respondents are dominated by male respondents (62.1%). Conclusion: The majority of respondents have psychological conditions including depression, anxiety and stress that are good enough because they are still able to control emotions.
