Abstract

Political campaigns are carried out in the form of meetings and public meetings which contain meetings, talks on the delivery of slogans, or in the form of the distribution of printed materials and items issued containing sentences, persuasions, images or sounds and symbols - symbol (Sayuti, 2014: 101-108). The focus of this study is how the campaign strategy was carried out by the Success Team of Khofifah - Emil in Magetan Regency in the East Java 2018 governor election. This research is a type of qualitative research. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research more intended to express the picture and / or understanding of how and why a phenomenon or reality of communication occurs. The sampling technique or sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used by researchers in this study are in-depth interviews and documentation (in the form of documents such as online newspapers, online journals and books). The validity of the data in this communication study uses triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the campaign strategy used by the Khofifah-Emil success team in the form of planning and implementation has won the candidate pair Khofifah-Emil. This is inseparable from all the elements that work together with the aim of winning Khofifah - Emil.
