Abstract
In this era of globalization, the process of industrialization and modernization has had a major impact on the widespread technology which has led to the rapid development of machines and mechanical work equipment. In the home industry sector enter the non-formal industry where the industry has not received government permission and does not have SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) that guarantees the health of workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of mechanical vibrations with work fatigue and health problems in furniture workers in Serenan Juwiring Klaten Village. This type of research is quantitative with the Cros Sectional approach because the cause and effect variables of the research object are measured in the same time and situation on 131 respondents using quota sampling technique where the subject collection is in accordance with the specified conditions until the required number of samples are met. The results of vibration research experienced by respondents consisted of several categories including categories that can be applied as many as 2 people (1.5%), vibrations in the category are still allowed as many as 33 people (25.2%), and vibrations with hazardous categories as many as 96 people (73, 3%). Respondents who experienced low fatigue were 60 people (45.8%), moderate were 68 people (51.9%), and high were 3 people (2.3%). There is a significant relationship between mechanical vibration with work fatigue with the value of sig (p-value) = 0.020 <0.05 so that Ho is rejected, which means there is a relationship with the correlation value (r) 0.202, which means the level of closeness is weak so the correlation between vibration variables and significant work fatigue and direct (positive) relationship. Therefore vibration in working machines in the furniture industry can be reduced by using PPE in the form of foam gloves to reduce and minimize vibrations transmitted to furniture workers thereby reducing the risk of work fatigue.
