Abstract
Assessments that are in accordance with the 2013 curriculum are authentic assessments. The role of the teacher's ability to carry out authentic assessment is very important, because this is the main task of a teacher. This study aims to (1) Describe the teacher's understanding of authentic assessment (2) Analyze the implementation of authentic assessments at Muhammadiyah Baturan Elementary School (3) Describing the obstacles experienced the teacher during the authentic assessment process (4) Describe the teacher's efforts in overcoming obstacles during the assessment process. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research design. The technique of collecting data is done by interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validity technique uses triangulation techniques. The results of the study: (1) The teacher's understanding of the concept of authentic assessment is quite good (2) The implementation of authentic assessments consists of three stages, namely the stages of planning, implementing and reporting the results of scores (3) Obstacles during the assessment process such as: lack of assessment time, number of aspects assessed, difficulty in coordination with students, and difficulty in making learning outcome reports (4) Solutions used such as: holding peer discussions, coordinating with student guardians, and participating in training / workshop activities.
