Abstract

This study has three objectives, (1) Describe the structure of news texts in Republika and Kompas newspapers, (2) Describe how elements in Republika and Kompas newspaper news texts, (3) Describe the use of news text structures and how elements in news texts as Indonesian language teaching materials class VIII. The research method uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques in this study used the method of referencing with the advanced technique of note taking. Data analysis in this research was conducted using the method of distribution with advanced techniques of sorting techniques. News text research results in the November 2018 edition of the Republika and Kompas newspapers, 1) There is a complete structure such as the headline, headline, body of news, and head of the news. The news body has 5W + 1H elements which have complete and incomplete functions such as why (when) elements and where (where) as well as inverted news body elements, 2) The results of linguistic analysis of filler elements, how the markers are always in the news text that is the verb markers, adjectives, adverbs and verb phrases, 3) The results of this analysis can be used as teaching materials for class VIII SMP 1 semester 3.2 KD. Examining Structure and Language of a proud and motivating News Text.
