Abstract
Ningrum Intan Pertiwi / A510150073.OPTIMIZATION OF SCHOOL LIBRARY AS A LEARNING SOURCE IN THE TOP CLASS STUDENTS IN PYP AL FIRDAUS WCIS SURAKARTA.Essay.Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta. July, 2019. The research aims (1) to describe library optimizationas a source of learning for upper class students; (2 the use of the school library as a learning resource for upper class students; (3) the obstacle and solutions to the use of the library as a source of learning for upper class students at PYP AL-FIRDAUS WCIS Surakarta. The type of the research is qualitative research, with a single case study design. Data collection techniques using interview, observation, and documentation.Data analysis techniques ofthe research are interactive model.The validity of the data uses source triangulation and technical. The results of the reserach shows that; (1) the management of the school library has been running well, the library has an agenda such as a literacy competition; (2) the use of the library at least once a week during literacy hours, and the library is used as a place for discussion by students and teachers; (3) There are obstacles from the use of the school library as a learning resource such as library facilities that are not feasible, it’s not immediately separated and the literacy schedule is on the same with other class; (4) the solutions to minimize the obstacles in utilizing school library as a source of learning by separating facilities that are not feasible and updating literacy schedules.
