Abstract

Resilience is an important ability to have for persons with disabilities. An important factor that can affect the resilience of persons with disabilities is social support and self-acceptance. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and self acceptance with resilience to disability. This research using a quantitative approach. The sampling technique in this study is to use purposive sampling. The subjects in this study were persons with disabilities in BBRSPDF with the criteria of men and women aged 18-35 years and living in BBRSPDF Surakarta. The data collection tool used in this study is the scale of resilience, the scale of social support and the scale of self-acceptance. The data analysis technique used in this research is multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis obtained a statistical T value of 38.176 with p = 0.000 (p ≤ 0.01), meaning that there is a very significant relationship between social support and self-acceptance with the resilience of persons with disabilities. Other results obtained are there is a very significant positive relationship between social support and the resilience of persons with disabilities with the results of the rx1y correlation of 0.557 and significance (p) of 0.00 (p ≤ 0.01). In addition there is a very significant positive relationship between self-acceptance and resilience of persons with disabilities with the results of the rx2y correlation of 0.813 and significance (p) of 0.00 (p ≤ 0.01). Effective contribution (SE) of social support and self-acceptance of the resilience of persons with disabilities is 66.2% and there are still 33.8% of other factors that affect resilience.
