Abstract

Background : After being approved for hospitalization, most post-stroke patients must help with further treatment to restore their physical and functional abilities. As the recovery of the length of time needed with cost factors, family support and additional factors that increase patients who improve psychological problems and recovery of patients will experience improvement in ADL. Objective : To determine the relationship between depression level and ADL independence level of post-stroke patients in RSJD Dr. RM. Soedjarwadi Central Java Province. Research Method : This study uses Cross Sectional with the number of respondents totaling 30 patients by conducting interviews with patients and filling out questionnaires. Results : Distribution of data on patients with severe depression was 5 people (16.6%), and that increased the level of independence of 4 people (13.3%). Data processing was carried out with the SPSS program with the Pearson Product Moment corelation, with the results of p-value 0.001 and the efficiency coefficient value of Pearson 0.581. Conclusion :The recommendation of this study is the making of a plot and policy for patients suspected of correcting depression to get more attention and needed for consultation with a psychologist.
