Abstract

Surakarta is a city that holds a lot of history and has a diverse and interesting cultural wealth in it, from the aspects of art, culture, creative industries to historical heritage from the Dutch colonial era. One of them is the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace. The Surakarta Kasunanan Palace in 1963 opened the first time to receive the PATA 1 Tourist as the Surakarta Kasunanan Cultural Asylum Museum. The name was given by President Soekarno, with the intention that the museum became a sanctuary for high-value cultural objects. This museum occupies the former duchy office so its shape is elongated because the kadipaten office according to its function at that time became the place of management of the palace administration. This museum has a variety of collections belonging to the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace in the form of archaeological objects (stone statues and bronze from the Hindu-Buddhist period), history (chairs and cupboards that have been used by Paku Buwono X, weapons, and large seupers for cooking rice) at war time), ethnography, and traditional art. In addition, there are also photos of kings and chariots - the king's trains which are mostly made in the Netherlands. Therefore in this study the aim was to Build the Surakarta Sunanate Cultural Reserve Museum with the approach of the Regionalism Architecture movement. To increase the tourist attraction of the Surakarta Sunan Culture Reserve Museum. And also do not forget to be able to educate visitors and recreational facilities.
