Abstract

Aninda Tetrasari Zahroh Habibah/A510150236. THE APPLICATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION WITH THE CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER PROGRAM FOR HIGH CLASS STUDENT AT SDN 1 GATAK. Skripsi, Faculty of Teacher Treaning Education Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. July 2019. Growth and strengthening the character of children is emphasized in education, especially at the elementary school level. One of them through habituation activities and school programs. This study aims to describe the application of character education with the congregational prayer program for high class student at SDN 1 Gatak, the benefits of application the congregational prayer program for students and describing the character development of students through the application of a congregational prayer program at the elementary school. This study uses a case study research design. The subject of this study consisted of principals, teachers, upper class students. The data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity techniques used the source and technique triangulation. To analyze the data used the Miles and Huberman model, the activity is data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed that the congregational prayer program at SDN 1 Gatak was held every Monday to Thursday, at the dhuhur prayer time. Activities must be carried out for upper class students monitored by the teachers. This activity is useful to train students in fostering religious character, discipline, togetherness, social, responsibility, independence, tolerance, orderliness, and patience. The character development of students through the congregational prayer program increase to positive direction. Especially in the character of discipline, responsibility, independence, friendliness, tolerance is getting better and more consistent than before.
