Abstract

This study has three objectives. (1) describe the principle of cooperation found in Kick Andy's talkshow on Metro TV. (2) describes the violation of the principle of cooperation found in Kick Andy's talkshow on Metro TV. and (3) explain the function of violating the principle of cooperation. The method in this study uses qualitative methods. The research began from February 28 to May 6 2019. The research data were in the form of the principle of cooperation, violation of the principle of cooperation, and the function of violating the principle of cooperation. Data collection techniques in this study used the technique of listening and note. To analyze the data in this study using the agih method with extension techniques and marking reading techniques. There are three results of research in this study. First, in this study found 18 obeyed maximal data consisting of 4 quantity maxims, 11 quality maxims, 3 relevance maxims, 1 method maxim. Second, 16 manifestations of violations of cooperation maxims and their contribution to the Kick Aandy program consisted of 13 violations of quantity maxims, 3 violations of quality maxims, 2 violations of maximal relevance, and 2 violations of the maxim of methods. The principle of cooperation found in the speech proves that the conversation between the speaker and the speech partner can understand well.
