Abstract
ABSTRACT The mushroom cultivation industry is a small industry in Polokarto Subdistrict from 2009-2018 the number of industries and labor has increased. The initial increase was 8 industries to 23 industries and the number of workers initially 54 people to 272 people. The purpose of this study is to examine the demographic, social, economic characteristics of workers in the mushroom cultivation industry, to examine the factors that encourage work in the mushroom cultivation industry, to assess the size of the contribution of income to industrial workers. The method used is a survey by interviewing the mushroom cultivation industry workers. (1) The results of this study are all productive industrial workers, namely 15-64. Most industrial workers are women consisting of 59 people or 85% and the rest are male workers or 15%. 92% of married workers have family members of 3-4 people. The low education level of workers, has the main job of mushroom cultivation industry workers 78% and 22% of the main jobs are farmers, the distance of the industrial location that is close to the place of residence, the income of workers is Rp500,000 - Rp1,200,000 / month. It is still below the UMR of Sukoharjo Regency, which is Rp. 1,700,000. (2) The factor that encourages workers to work in the mushroom cultivation industry is close access to housing because many respondents who are reluctant to seek work outside a reasonable District do not have a vehicle. (3) The contribution of mushroom cultivation industry workers to total family income is 50%, even though the nominal given is not large enough but the contribution to the total family income is very large, meaning the income of working in the mushroom cultivation industry greatly affects family income.
