Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the national cultural development targets is to explore, maintain and preserve cultural works that refer to national culture, as well as individual and communal legal protection. In this case, the ethnic culture and local culture possessed by ethnic groups in Indonesia is an important part of the nation's culture which has contributed greatly to the strengthening of identity and national character formation and national cultural resilience. From this point of view, the Indonesian nation actually has the potential of resources which is a competitive advantage because it is blessed with cultural diversity that is directly proportional to the number of ethnic groups in this country. This condition is further enriched by the existence of a number of communities that are consistent with the traditions inherited from their ancestors. This tradition proved effective in counteracting the negative influences of foreign cultures that were not in accordance with the characteristics of the nation's culture. With the Sriwedari Art Center and Cultural Community, it is hoped that it can become a creative and educational forum in preserving adat and cultural values in Solo City and can increase tourism with the cultural community. The purpose of the Sriwedari Art Center and Cultural Community is to design a building art staging and the center for the development of cultural communities as maximal creative centers / facilities and fulfilling all their functions aimed at making new icons in the city of Solo.
