Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop enrichment book and to know effectiveness of population dynamics enrichment book in disaster mitigation. This type of development model uses development research (Research and Development) which refers to the Thiagarajan development model, namely the 4D model. The study design used the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with 65 respondents namely XI IPS 2 and XI IPS 3 students at Kartasura 1 Senior High School. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 2 research classes namely, 1 class as the control class and 1 class as the experimental class. Data collection techniques used in this study are questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the T test (t-test). The results of product development produce population dynamic in the disaster mitigation’ enrichment book. The book size is 21 cm x 29.7 cm with product feasibility from material experts and media experts with an average of 4.68 which falls into the category "GOOD". The results of the effectiveness of enrichment books can be seen through the increase in the average results of the posttest pretest in the population dynamics material. The control class had an average pretest score of 70.89 and the posttest average was 77.79 while the experimental class had an average pretest score of 67.44 and increased in the posttest to 87.11. Book effectiveness was calculated using N-gain score. The score increase average in the experimental class students included in the category of “moderately effective” with a value of n-gain score 59,23%, while the average improvement of students in the control class belongs to the category of “not effective” with a value of n-gain score to 23.45%. The results of the T test(t-test) the data of pretest and posttest showed a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 accepted which means there is a significant difference of learning outcomes before and after the use of the enrichment books in population issue in disaster mitigation.
