Abstract

Background: Rupture Anterior Cruciate Ligaments are torn knee joint ligaments which can be caused by trauma, both direct trauma such as direct impact on the knee or indirect trauma such as landing with wrong position in the athlete due to excessive movement towards the extension. This damage case the stability of the knee joint to decrease so that the functional knee will also decrease. Rupture will cause muscle weakness, meniscal injury, paint or discomfort in the knee joint in the long term. Objective: to determine the benefits of infrared and strengthening exercise in anterior cruciate ligaments knee dextra injury cases. Result: after 3 treatments, there were changes in pain at rest from T0 : 1 to T3: 0, tenderness pain from T0 : 3 to T3 : 1, and motion pain from T0 : 4 to T3 : 3, increased quadriceps muscle strength from T0 : 3 to T3 : 4 while the hamstring muscle from T0 : 3 to T3 : 4. Conclusion: giving of infrared and strengthening exercise can reduce pain and increase the strength of the quadriceps and hamstring muscles.
