Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) Describe the use of redundant forms in the description of class VII Muhammadiyah Middle school 5 Surakarta. (2) Describe the form of other syntactic field errors and their causes. The data in this study are words, phrases, and sentences that contain syntactic field errors. The sources of this research data is the result of a description of students of Surakarta Muhammadiyah Middle School 5, and the results of observations and interviews. Data collection uses the refer and note method. The method of data analysis uses the Agih method. In this study found redundant form errors, improper use of diction, and ambiguous words. The causal factors in the field of syntax are influenced by languages that are first studied, lack of understanding of language usage, inappropriate use of non-standard words, environmental influences.
