Abstract
Transformer is an important equipment in an electric power system that is used to convert alternating current voltage from one level to another level. Therefore, the transformer must always be maintained so as to maintain quality and slow down aging. Various factors that can affect the transformer lifespan include the contents of the transformer insulation, loading, transformer temperature and ambient temperature (ambient temperature). This study aims to find the effect of the content of transformer oil isolation on its age shrinkage by linking the calculation of several factors including, ambient temperature (ambient temperature), load transformer and cooling system on the transformer. Based on the research using IEEE C57-104.2008 standard analysis and Key Gas oil isolation content on the transformer unit 3 Pemalang substations indicated Overheating of cellulose (heating insulation paper) so that it affected the performance of the transformer. The results showed the highest hotspot temperature when ONAN mode is 90℃ with 90% loading and ONAF mode that is 77.6℃ at the time of 41% loading in this case the transformer is still safe to operate because the hotspot temperature is still below the IEC345 standard limit in 1991 which is equal to 98℃. The effect of environmental temperature (ambient temperature) on the Pemalang substation that changes from 25℃ at night to 32℃ during the day, this results in unit 3 power transformer shrinkage at the Pemalang when ONAN substation at 68% loading of 0.84 hours and at 90% loading at 1.17 hours, while ONAF at 41% loading at 0.27 hours and at loading 54% at 0.12 hours. The worst loading of 90% ONAN mode without ONAF mode operates this can result in a faster thermal aging rate and the age of the transfomator is 14.5 years. The peak load in March is still relatively low at 54% for ONAN / ONAF mode operating with an ambient temperature of 25℃, the transformer can be 141.6 years.
