Abstract

ABSTRACT One city that has roots in performances and many connoisseurs and performers of keroncong music is Solo City or Surakarta. Even in this city in 2009 it was confirmed as Keroncong City. However, if we look at the existing facilities and infrastructure to accommodate the performance of keroncong music specifically it is not yet available in the city of Solo and its surroundings. Fulfillment of music performance facilities is not only needed to meet the increasing interest of the community but also is needed for our musicians to increase their appreciation and work in music. In its ideas and concepts Solo Keroncong Performing Art has the purpose of making the audience able to enjoy and feel comfortable with the performances held, the comfort in question is audio and visual comfort. The Solo Keroncong Performing Art was designed using a space and neo-vernacular acoustic approach. This approach is intended to create a building design for traditional art performances by paying attention to the factors of room acoustics so that users can enjoy performances that are going well, and make building designs with building forms that refer to the local language by taking existing elements in a modern form or present. In designing the method carried out, namely literature study and observation, and data analysis. From this method, the location of the Solo Keroncong Performing Art is located which is very strategically located close to the settlement. Placement of locations close to settlements can provide aspects of interaction between activities in the building and the surrounding community. This can increase regional income in terms of tourism indirectly and introduce the art of keroncong music to foreign tourists.
