Abstract
Diaphragm Pump is a useful tool for flowing wind from compressors that are conveyed to machines that use wind performance. In the process the Diaphragm Pump engine emits a sound source on the engine components, namely the piston. Because there is no silencer that dampens the sound source, the sound produced is also very noisy. The resulting noise is 92 dB. This study aims to design and make noise dampers that can reduce noise on the engine. The tool designed in the form of a beam with four tested layers can reduce noise. The layers used are mahogany wood as a shield, coconut fiber, tray, Styrofoam, and plywood. This layer can reduce noise from 92 dB to 68 dB. Percentage of noise decreased by 26.09%.
