Abstract

The purpose of this study were to test: (1) The effect of the level of reasoning power on the learning outcomes of mathematics. (2) The effect of interest in learning on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) Interaction between the level of reasoning and interest in learning. This type of research were quantitative. The samples taken in this study were students of class VIII with a total of 61 students. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the analysis of two-way variance with unequal cells. The results of the data analysis were obtained with a significant level of 5%, namely: (1) There was an influence on the level of reasoning power towards the learning outcomes of mathematics. (2) There was no influence of interest in learning on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) There was no interaction between the level of reasoning and interest in learning towards the learning outcomes of mathematics.
