Abstract
Markets are systems, institutions, procedures, social relations and infrastructure where consumers and sellers of goods and services meet (Sarlito, 2015). Markets are often referred to as economic drivers in an area. The same is true for Pasar Bekonang which is strategically located. Bekonang market is a market located in Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo. This market is the largest traditional market in the Mojolaban region and is located on the busy lane of Solo-Karanganyar. However, this market has various weaknesses in terms of its architecture, which is seen in terms of the physical size of the kiosk and booth, lighting, air conditioning, merchant grouping and accessibility. This has been proven by the author through research that has been done. In addition, this market is also synonymous with the Kliwonan tradition. When Kliwonan arrived, many of the problems that occurred one of them was the cause of a long traffic jam. The DP3A is trying to redesign the existing Bekonang market building in accordance with the conditions in the field. The approach used is to use the modern market facilities approach. This approach is considered appropriate because the condition of the Bekonang market is now quiet from both sellers and buyers. Many kiosks and booths are still empty. This approach is expected to be able to attract buyers and traders to sell on the Bekonang market. In addition, accessibility is also a very important factor in a building. With the current access conditions of the Bekonang market, it is expected that restructuring accessibility in the Bekonang market can facilitate market users so that it can become a market attraction.
