Abstract
MANAGEMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN THE CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME DEXTRA CASE IN RSJ. PROF. DR. SOEROJO MAGELANG (Aprilia Dewi Suryani, 2019, 38 Pages) Abstract Background : Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition where there is a narrowing of the carpal tunnel which result in pressure on the median nerve resulting in symptoms of pain in the hand and wrist, tingling, numbness in the thumb, index finger, finger middle, and half of ring finger. Objective : To determine the management of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in reducing pain, reducing parasthesia, increasing muscle strength and the scope of joint motion in cases of dextra carpal tunnel syndrome with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation modalities and stretching exercise to increase range of motionand reduce pain. Result : After therapy was given 3 times, the result showed that there was a decrease in pain in the right hand, silent pain T0:1 , to T3: 1, tenderness T0:6 , to T3:5 , motion pain T0: 4, to T3 :3 , Then for range motion of joint side the result is T0: S: 50˚-0˚-60˚and F: 25˚-0˚-15˚, becoming T3: S:60˚-0˚-70˚ and F: 30˚-0˚-20˚. Conclusion : The conclusion obtained from the therapy carried out for 3 times the therapy found that the presence of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation can reduce pain and improve blood circulation, and exercise therapy can improve the patient’s joint motion range.
