Abstract

There is very little circulation of soap with natural ingredients on the market, most of which use synthetic chemical compounds as the main ingredient in making soap. These compounds can cause health problems on the skin that has high sensitivity, therefore an alternative ingredient for making soap from natural ingredients is needed. Natural ingredients that can be used as soap makers, namely banana skin and lemongrass because they contain antibacterial compounds. This study aims to determine the organoleptic results of liquid soap from banana peel and lemongrass using polar solvents. The method used in this research is experimental research using a completely randomized design (RAL) technique with a qualitative descriptive analysis. Factor 1 is the ingredient (E) of banana skin and lemongrass, 1: 3, 1: 1, 3: 1 and factor 2 is solvent (P). The organoleptic test results showed that the shape, aroma, and color of the soap varied in each treatment, and liquid soap most likely is soap with E2P2 treatment
