Abstract

Health professionals are faced with patient problems every day. Increasing complex patient problems requires the skills and knowledge of several professional staff. Therefore collaboration is needed between health professionals to increase satisfaction with patients. One effort to realize effective collaboration is by introducing collaborative practices from an early age through the process of learning Interprofessional Education (IPE). To study aims to describe the perception of health science faculty students on the Implementation of Interprofessional Education (IPE) in the community. This research uses a quantitative method with descriptive analysis type with proportional random sampling technique of 82 respondents. The research instrument used the Interdiciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS). The results showed that 72.0% of students perceived both the components of competence and autonomy, the need to collaborate, the perception of actual cooperation, and an understanding of other professions. Even so, there are still 28% of students who still have a moderate perception with all components of IPE. The conclusion of the study is that even though most students have good perceptions of the IPE component, there are still students who experience moderate perceptions, therefore students must continue to learn by developing good communication, to clinical supervisors, or other students.
